Drummer Alex Brooks has been a mainstay on the Detroit jazz scene and has performed in countless engagements with city’s best artists.  Just a few of the musicians he has performed with such are Larry Smith, Kenny Garrett, James Carter, Marcus Belgrave, Marlena Shaw, the Teddy Harris Big Band, Esther Phillips, O. C. Smith, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, and Donald Waldon.  Brooks has also toured the US, Europe, and Africa, playing at notable venues throughout the world.  Alex performed as a member of the Mulgrew Miller trio for a live radio broadcast on NPR.
