Rapper/Poet D-Priest began writing poetry at a young age about everyday life. It was when an aunt discovered his writing that she asked him to write something for her. She was so impressed by his speed and depth that she entered it in a nationwide contest. He didn’t win the competition but It was then that his confidence grew and he began putting his words to music. There was no turning back as he would go on to win countless talent competitions. With his commanding voice and honest lyrics he earned respect from peers and fans alike.

He was one of the founders of Reckdaphunck, which was a four member group that produced original music and brought DPriest local success. He would also share the stage with legendary rapper Tupac Shukar , a memory he will value for years to come. DPriest was signed to various underground labels over the years, from Michigan to Chicago. He fell short of success and was ready to relinquish his pursuit of a music career.

He then met Dane Bays, a talented saxophone player, who was looking for a rapper to incorporate in a new sound of music . DPriest had finally come into his own. Able to express with both sides of his talents - poetry and rapping - with a voice that demands to be heard and beautiful words that are delivered with emotion, DPriest is a force to be reckoned with.
